Trainee FAQ

Here's some frequently asked questions about our trainings :)

Where can i find my...(reading list, assignments, audio lectures or practice log)?

Find it on our Trainee Landing Page

Where can I find the audio lectures?

Find it on our Trainee Landing Page

There are more weeks in the practice log than there are weeks before the training. How should I be filling out the practice log?

Please start filling it out from your acceptance date on. Don't worry about the weeks before you were accepted. If you do have a consistent practice and would like to post-date it in your log that is great. Just note it in your log.

Is the pre-work mandatory?

Yes! It is part of the hours you are putting into your 200-hour certification. We understand that as teachers you are likely VERY busy so we've done our best to design this work so it is manageable and engaging, yet meets our requirements from Yoga Alliance.

Should I be typing or hand-writing my pre-work responses?

Do what works best for you! Note that we do ask you submit a hard copy to your mentor on Day 1 of the training. This is not a copy you can expect back as we need it for our records, so please plan accordingly! (i.e. don't write in a journal that you want to get back)

When is pre-work due?

Pre-work is due to your mentor on Day 1 of your training.

What materials do I need for the training?

You will need to purchase your required reading texts (found here) and your own props. These can be props you already own or you can purchase them for a heavily discounted rate here

Required Readings: The Courage To Teach, Yoga Anatomy and Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (total cost $49)

Required Props: 1 block (4 inch cork is our favorite), 1 strap and 1 blanket (total cost $34)

Recommended Props: We recommend an additional block and bolster (add'l $79)
